Course Description

In this online, self directed and self paced course you will discover how three events in the year 1845 were very significant to the development of the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts.  Through a series of pre-recorded videos and assignments you will learn how the arrival of the first of the Irish immigrants, the construction of the Great Stone Dam, and the Essex Company receiving its charter all came together and began the process of creating a great textile manufacturing center. After you have registered for this course, you will receive an email that will provide you with access to the online course.  You will need a computer or device in order to get a Google account, as this course will be taught via Google Classroom.
