Unlock the door to a rewarding career as an Administrative Specialist with our ESOL Supported Certificate Program. This comprehensive, contextualized ESOL, 18-week program, specifically designed for intermediate to advanced English speakers, is tailored to provide essential administrative skills alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.

Throughout the entire program students will participate in supported ESOL studies to improve their English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills with an emphasis on Business English.

This program is delivered online during the evening hours. Prepare to excel in administrative roles, equipped with a unique blend of administrative expertise, digital literacy, and collaboration skills..

The program covers the following topics:

  • Digital Literacy; Students will build a strong foundation in digital literacy, covering computer basics, file management, and online safety.
  • ESOL Microsoft Office; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access as well as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. 
  • ESOL Administrative Tasks; Advanced skills in project management, time management, event planning, effective teamwork, collaboration strategies and database management. 
  • ESOL Professional Communication; Develop strong communication skills, including writing professional emails, phone etiquette, and effective communication in a professional setting.
  • Personal Finance; Introduction to Personal Finance covering consumer finance, loans, budgeting, debt management, saving, credit and its history, insurance, taxes, investments and retirement.

This program is FREE for qualified SNAP Recipients.

Requirements:

Intermediate or higher level (SPL 4/5) –English required.

Required Textbook: TBD

Software: you will need access to Microsoft® Office for Office 365 Professional, which includes Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. See blackboard for free software.

Computer requirements: You need a computer that is able to access the Internet, a microphone, camera and has Windows 10 and above. Windows XP and Vista cannot be used with Office for Office 365. Storage device for saving files: One USB flash drive, 512 MB or greater capacity.
