Phlebotomy

NECC is offering a summer session of Phlebotomy as a state funded stand-alone credential that can also be applied to the certificate pathway.

This class focuses on venipuncture and micro collection techniques for obtaining hematological specimens from patients. Students perform venipuncture techniques on each other through this course. Included with this course are units on the circulatory system, collection equipment, infection control, requisitioning, specimen transport, quality control, and safety. This class will provide both classroom learning and lab skills.

Upon completion, students will be able to sit for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam (CPT). Cost for the exam will be covered under the terms of the grant.
