Prepare for College with This FREE Program
If you passed your High School Equivalency Test (GED or HiSET) and want to improve your academic skills to prepare for college, this free program is for you! You can also take advantage of this program if it has been more than five years since you graduated from high school.
This grant will support all adult ed students so ESL students who complete the program are also eligible.

The Transitions to College program is designed specifically to help you enhance your academic skills and prepare for college. Not only will you gain the knowledge and confidence you need to succeed in higher education, but you’ll also receive textbooks and supplies at no cost!
Our program offers dedicated advising and coordination support from an advisor and a T2C coordinator to guide you every step of the way. With engaging courses in essential subjects, you'll be equipped to tackle college-level challenges and achieve your goals.

The Transition to College Program Provides:
- Two semesters of academic preparation in reading, writing, math and computers for success in college- though preferred, students don't have to complete in two semesters
- Time management, computer, note taking, technology and study skills
- Help completing the NECC application and Financial Aid forms
- Career exploration and advising
Earn College Credits with This Program
Upon successful completion of the program, you will have earned 6 college credits via a three-credit college success course and a three-credit computer course. Transition to College students can take up to 5 college courses and earn up to 15 college credits, including courses in English, Math and Computers, as well as a First-Year Seminar and one course in your major.
Program Schedule:
Morning program: Wed, Fri, Sat: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, days subject to change
Evening program: M, T, W & Th: 6:00 to 9:00 pm, evenings subject to change.
Location
Classes are currently being offered in-person only on the Lawrence campus.
