Course Description

At the end of this course students will be able to process, understand, interpret, and engage with level-appropriate literary and informational written and spoken text to construct meaning. Students will also able to produce level-appropriate written and spoken text that is meaningfully transmits meaning. Students will be able to process and produce level-appropriate written and spoken text interactively with the purpose of understanding, interpreting, engaging in and transmitting meaning. Students will be able to understand the significance of context in interpreting the hidden or double meaning of many commonly used speech acts in English.
